Abstract:

Following researches conducted in the field and studies of different written documents, we analyze some differences between the oral and written forms of toponyms in the Neamt river’s valley. These may be the result of literalization`s influence, of popular etymology, of scribes’ negligence etc. There are also some differences between the popular and the official toponymy, reflected in the toponymic syntagmas and periphrases.
