ANALYSE SEMIOLOGIQUE DES ATTRIBUTS DU CORPS DANS L’IMPASSE ET AGONIES DE DANIEL BIYAOULA

Language of Publication:

Title in English:

Semiological Analysis of Body Attributes in Daniel Biyaoula’s Novels “The Impasse” and “Agonies”

Abstract:

The body in “L’impasse” and “Agonies” is defined through its attributes. The proposed study focuses on two non-linguistic signs which are considered as attributes of the body, namely clothing and skin color. Through the semiological approach, we consider these elements as external signs that can define the characters in the biyaoulian romantic discourse. The garment and the color of the carnation are taken as the sign of identity artifice.

dressed body, numb body, cultural alienation, identity
